Hi there!
Sleeping outdoors on cardboard sheets in the middle of winter is no picnic, yet this is the stark reality more than 50,000 homeless men, women and children in Australia face every night.
I was personally shocked to read that in Australia there are more than 105,000 people who donât have somewhere to call home. In Brisbane alone, 2070 people are homeless on any given night. Each month Vinnies helps more than 4000 families in crisis. In a bid to address these problems, the St Vincent de Paul Society is holding its annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
On Thursday June 21, CEOs all over the country, including in Brisbane, will âsleep roughâ to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for homelessness.
I have registered to âRise to the Challengeâ to help raise awareness and much needed funds so that Vinnies can continue the fantastic work they do in providing food, clothing, accommodation and rehabilitation for those in need.
I will be sleeping rough on June 21, with other Queensland business leaders to experience firsthand what it is like for so many; will you support my involvement by sponsoring me with a donation for this very worthy cause?
I have taken up the challenge â can I count on you to help me in my endeavours?
You can sponsor me by going to www.ceosleepout.org.au and looking for me under Queensland participants. I look forward to your support.
Yours sincerely
Angela Yin
