On Tuesday 30 July 2013, The Woolloongabba Business Association hosted a networking evening with Mayoor Thakeria, the CEO OF Sudima Suites.
The evening was made more intimate by a number of fire places causing the 36 persons attending to congregate together to stare in wonder at the view from atop the Sudima Suites. There is an almost 360 degree view of Brisbane but most amazing was the view of the heavens. Up above the city lights the stars were clearly shining and it was reliably reported that shooting stars were seen in the heavens.
Our VP Suzanne organised for Blue Gulabi, Brews Brothers and Vespa Pizza to cater for the evening. The ginger and chilli beer paired remarkably well with the beef vindaloo lifting the ambient temperate for all consumers. The pizza caused somewhat of a stir with all the men disappearing from conversation to snatch up the tasty morsels. Thank you to the proprietors of those businesses as the food was excellent and in good supply.
A business card draw was held with prizes supplied by Sudima Suites, Snow Scene and Yellow Cabs. After drawing his own business card for first prize (a night at Sudima Suites) Mayoor generously had a redraw and Tracey Walsh won the main prize. The SnowScene prize went to the most unlikely snow bunny Glenn Maymann and the third draw saw John from Muscillo Romano win Cab Vouchers from Yellow Cabs. Thank you to all those businesses for donating their prizes.
A cameo appearance was made by Councillor Helen Abrahams who made time in her busy schedule to mix and mingle with the rest of us.
After a suitably short introduction by the President Glendon Young our VP Suzanne Bosenquet thanked the businesses and attendees and Glendon thanked Suzanne for her effort in organising the night. Everyone appeared to enjoy the opportunity to meet and network with some of their fellow business men and women
